Important Notice for all dual members of AIB and CIOB
Monday, May 12, 2008

The Chartered Institute of Building, through Policy and Finance Committee and Council, has recently undertaken a review of the agreement with the Australian Institute of Building. Following this review, the CIOB Council has decided not to renew the current agreement based on reciprocal dual membership with effective date 2 April 2008.
The CIOB values its collaboration with Institutes and bodies worldwide and would welcome the opportunity of continuing engagement with the Australian Institute of Building on activities of mutual benefit such as events, seminars, conference and mutual exchange of information.
Your dual membership will therefore cease, but you will continue to be a member of both institutes and enjoy the benefits of both.  However, dual members will no longer be able to enjoy a discounted membership rate. This decision will apply to all countries where AIB operates with immediate effect.  The non-discounted membership subscription will not be due to the CIOB until the 2009 subscriptions are collected.
AIB members who wish to join CIOB will be able to apply following the normal CIOB rules for membership but will be subject to payment of the non-discounted CIOB membership subscription rates.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the CIOB Singapore office at akathirayson@ciob.org.sg or call 63344116.
