You are warmly invited to a special evening seminar  which is free of charge for CIOB Singapore members.  The hour long talk by Mr David Shuttleworth will focus on the construction market in the Middle East and will also provide an opportunity for members to mingle and network.  The seminar which is at SMU begins at 7pm followed by finger food and refreshments.

The Middle East has in recent years grown to become one of the largest construction markets in the world and the volume of work in the region is nothing short of spectacular with some of the most adventurous and innovative designs ever seen, now rapidly taking shape resulting in a constantly changing skyline.

David Shuttleworth has worked for nearly 30 years in the construction industry as QS, Commercial Manager and Consultant, having worked for various international contractors and consulting companies in the UK and internationally and for the last 14 years he has been based in Asia. He has resided in both Hong Kong and Singapore but worked extensively across the Asia Pacific Region.

He spent much of last year and the beginning of this year working in Dubai consulting on the Dubai Airport Expansion Project and will share some of his experiences there and provide a brief overview of the construction market in Dubai and the UAE generally plus some examples of several prominent projects currently underway.

He is currently Managing Director of ForemostConsultants Pte Ltd , a consultancy he established in Singapore several years ago which specialises in commercial and contractual management services to the construction and related industries, predominantly in Asia but other areas around the World as necessary.  He is a Fellow of the CIOB.

If you are interested, please rsvp by e-mailing Anita Kathirayson, Regional Administrator, CIOB Singapore at akathirayson@ciob.org.sg or calling 63344116.  Kindly rsvp by 15 August 2008.
