Site Management Awards

"...The course supplements and builds on the underpinning knowledge to carry out site management duties with the added recognition of the CIOB qualification. Any site manager completing the course will undoubtedly have a great deal of confidence and ability to progress further in any direction they see fit within the Construction Management arena..."
Duncan Burns ICIOB

The Site Management Awards is a wonderful opportunity to reward hard working, high achieving students. All centres running the programme are invited to nominate 3 candidates for the award.

The CIOB Site Management Award Scheme was launched in June 2006 as part of the celebration to mark the 30th anniversary of the CIOB Site Management Education and Training Scheme (now called the Site Management Diploma Programme.) The purpose of the award scheme is to promote best practice, and reward training and professionalism within site management for those candidates who have demonstrated application in the advancement of knowledge, application through occupational competence and ultimately, by contributing to improvements in site management practice and activities.

As the leading professional institute representing managers of the construction process and built environment, the CIOB recognises the importance of site management and the key function this role has on the success of a project. The CIOB Site Management programme aims to develop key skills and knowledge required for site managers to progress into an active leadership role. The award scheme endorses excellence and innovation in site management.

Paul Maurice Andree

As a member and passionate supporter of the CIOB, Paul had an international career which spanned the UK, Germany, Ireland and the United States. He believed in the challenge of achievement through hard work and application.Through distance learning he took the CIOB examinations whilst commuting between London and Germany. At the time of his death in November 1997 caused by a sailing accident, Paul had just completed a Postgraduate degree in Construction Refurbishment Management at University College London. He was posthumously awarded The Wates Award for MSc Outstanding Student and was about to embark on a Doctorate with the University of Reading. Paul was dedicated and passionate about his profession, the ideals of his Institute and his strong belief in continuing education.

I am and shall always remain indebted to The Chartered Institute of Building for its willingness to inaugurate in 1998, an Award in my husband’s name. It is an honour to present The Paul Andree Memorial Award each year, not only in the memory of my husband, but as testimony to each individual’s hard work and sacrifices made in achieving their success. I wish you all good luck in your future endeavours.
